The world of Singer and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson: One minute, she is on top of the world with an amazing career of music, movies and a recent engagement. The next minute, her world came crashing down with the shocking deaths of her family members. Hudson's mother, brother and 7-year old nephew were violently killed last weekend. At press time, a suspect believed to be Hudson's brother-in-law was in custody awaiting charges. Hudson's sister, Julia, has been doing most of the talking, and her appearances have left many people shaking their heads. How could she appear so calm during this tragic time with her constants posts on MySpace and the news conference where she pleaded for the return of her son? How will Jennifer ever recover from this? All of her events and video shoots have been canceled as tries to pick up the pieces of her life. There are so many unanswered questions. As authorities continue their investigation, a lot of truths will come out. Hollywood is wrapping their arms around Hudson. Everyone from Quincy Jones, Oprah Winfrey to Denzel Washington and Rocker Chris Martin from Coldplay have all made public pleas for prayers for the Hudson family. I had to chance to interview and hang out with Jennifer Hudson a few months ago. She talked about how important her family was to her despite her amazing success. She took her success in stride, sometimes in awe as she went from American Idol to Oscar-winning actress. Our prayers go out to her and her family. Let's hope as she gets through this tragedy and emerges a stronger person knowing that she is loved by many.

Actor Terrence Howard is being sued. Tex Allen, the brother of Debbie Allen and Phylicia Rashad, is suing Howard for $5 million. Allen claims Howard attacked him last winter while they were working on the Broadway production Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. Allen was working as a composer for the production, and he claims the beat down ruined his music playing. At press time, there was no comment from Howard.

Singer Natalie Cole is in need of a kidney transplant. Cole is still suffering the effects from her battle with Hepatitis C. Cole had to undergo chemo, and she lost a lot of weight and her hair. She is on kidney dialysis three times a week, and she recently made the pleas for a new kidney.

Singer El DeBarge is in jail again. This past weekend, DeBarge violated his parole when he was caught with a controlled substance. The story of El DeBarge is tragic and heartbreaking. The former lead singer of the group DeBarge was known for his good looks and high falsetto voice. He enjoyed numerous hits under his belt with an amazing career, but he let drugs get in the way. Along the way, there were numerous children, over ten, and arrests for domestic abuse. What went wrong? Sources say he looks like a worn out crack addict who doesn't need to be in jail. They feel he should be in a treatment center, but with his numerous arrests and parole violations, he may be in jail for a while. DeBarge was recently sentenced to two years in jail in a California state prison.

Is the Rev. Al Sharpton gearing up for the next season of Dancing With The Stars? Rev. Al says he had to turn down this season because of the presidential elections but he is willing to give it a try next season. Rev Al has also recently made changes in his personal life. He is no longer married and sources say he is dating again.

In the meantime, speaking of Dancing With The Stars, Toni Braxton says she's disappointed about being let go, but being on the show was a great experience. Braxton is on the cover of the latest issue of Jet magazine, and she is working on a new album due next spring.

Jermaine Dupri says all is well in the house of Janet and Jermaine, and they recently released a video to prove it. Vomit will not get in the way of this relationship. Dupri threw up on Jackson a few weeks ago after drinking too much. Dupri claims that despite the problems on the tour and Jackson's faltering career, they remain as committed as ever.

Halle Berry is moving to Canada. Berry recently purchased a home outside of Montreal, Canada near the home of her baby daddy, Model Gabrielle Aubry. Berry plans to reside in the states and Canada. She wants her young daughter to know her father's side of the family.

What's really going on with basketball great Isaiah Thomas? The ex-coach of the New York Knicks is denying reports that he overdosed on sleeping pills. The 47-year old Hall Of Famer says his daughter is having problems, and that the media got it wrong. But, police reports tell another story, a story of a man who was taken from his Westchester home and admitted to the hospital after accidentally overdosing on sleeping pills. Times have been tough for Thomas over the past five years. He went from being a great basketball player with the Detroit Pistons to being a disgraced team president and coach for the New York Knicks. During his five seasons with the Knicks, he came under fire for mismanagement, sexual harassment, embarrassing losses and foot in the mouth disease. In April, Thomas was demoted to a scouting consultant position because the Knicks Organization still had to pay him for the remainder of his $21 million contract. Sources say Thomas was humiliated, and he thought the organization turned on him. He never once took responsibility for his own actions during his tenure as president and coach of the Knicks. With his family firmly behind him, he insists he did not try to kill himself.

Comedian Katt Williams is going to regret acting a fool and not showing up to host The BET Hip Hop Awards. Williams is hot right now, but there is always tomorrow and the drinking and getting high is not cute anymore. Williams got into an argument with one of the BET producers right before the start of the awards. His behavior was described as disrespectful, difficult and demanding, plus he was three hours late. The show went on as planned with Rapper T-Pain hosting and no Katt. Williams was not even missed.

Sinbad and Yolanda Adams will be hosting the 21st Annual Stellar Awards. Gospel Sensation Marvin Sapp is leading the pack with nine nominations including song and male vocal. The show is taking place January 17th.

The contents of Isaac Hayes will have been released, and he left nothing to the Scientology religious sect. The Hayes Will left provisions for his 11 children from previous relationships, his young wife and their toddler son and his charity foundation. No money was left to the scientologist sect, which he had been a member for years. Needless to say this shocked the organization and its many members who attended all the various memorials for the singer.

Actor/Author Blair Underwood is back with a hot new novel. In The Night Of The Heat is the second steamy novel for the popular actor.

Will Michael Jackson ever tour again? According to close insiders, he will. Jackson is planning to travel to 30 cities around the world. Jackson says he wants to tour for his three kids. The last time he toured was 12 years ago.

LL Cool J has quit the Janet Jackson Rock Witchu Tour. Uncle L was fed up with the cancellations and low tickets sales. When he was asked to take a pay cut, he decided he had to leave the tour.

Director John Singleton will not be a part of The A-Team movie. Singleton was supposed to direct the big screen version of the 80's TV classic which made Mr. T a star. Rapper/Actor Ice Cube had agreed to play the Mr. T's role of B.A. Baracus, so, what happened? Apparently, the movie company wanted to postpone the production until 2010, and Singleton wasn't willing to do that. He said he had other projects to do.

Bishop T.D. Jakes' new movie, Not Easily Broken, opens in theatres early next year. The movie stars Morris Chestnut, Taraji P. Henson and Jennifer Lewis.

The movie, Notorious, based on the life of Rapper Biggie Smalls, a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G., is gearing up for its release, which is scheduled for January 16th, 2009. Angela Bassett will be playing Biggie's mom, Volletta Wallace.

Motown Records is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a new box set of songs that the fans have picked. The box set is due December 9th. The 10 disc CD will feature 191 songs from your favorite Motown stars including Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Mary Wells and Martha & The Vandellas, to name a few.

The Whispers are coming out with a holiday DVD. The famed singing group has been performing for over 45 years. Christmas With The Whispers features holiday classic and interviews.

Cedric The Entertainer is headed to Broadway. The stage play American Buffalo, about small time crooks, also stars John Leguizamo. American Buffalo opens on November 17th.

The late Bernie Mac and the late Isaac Hayes make their final screen appearance in the movie Soul Men. Soul Men opens in theatres on November 7th and also stars Samuel L. Jackson.

Beyonce teams up with Oscar Winner Adrian Brody and Jeffrey Wright for the movie Cadillac Records. Beyonce is playing the Legendary Etta James. The movie opens in theatres December 5th.
