Oprah to Host Show in Washington During Inauguration Week

Oprah Winfrey has found a new – but temporary – home for her talk show.

The Chicago-based Oprah Winfrey Show will move to Washington, D.C., where Winfrey will host at least two episodes during Inauguration Week, Harpo Productions announced Thursday.

The talk show queen, 54, plans to air a live episode from the Kennedy Center Opera House the day before Barack Obama is sworn in as president. A second taping is scheduled for Wednesday Jan. 21 after the inauguration ceremony.

Information about ticketing will be posted next week on Oprah.com.

Winfrey, who has supported Obama, tells Extra, "There's always an open invitation for the President-elect and First Lady" to be guests on the show.

As for rumors that she never invited Sarah Palin, Winfrey reiterated that she said she "would be happy to talk to [her] when the election was over."

"I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta Van Susteren," she says. "She talked to Matt Lauer. She talked to Larry King, but she didn't talk to me. But maybe she'll talk to me now that she has a book deal."
